Medical store billing software for a counter that never gets a quiet minute
A pharmacy counter is about speed and trust. The customer is often unwell or in a hurry, the shelf has thousands of small, similar-looking items, and your margin on each is thin enough that the cost price is not something the person at the counter should see.
Store Mitr gives a medical store a quick way to find and bill items, a clean record of what you buy from distributors, and customer records for the regulars who come back every month.

Finding the right item quickly
Scan the barcode on the pack with your phone camera, or type a few letters of the name or barcode in the search box and pick from the results. New items are just as fast to add: scan an unknown barcode and the New item form opens with the barcode already filled in.
Margins stay private
Your cost price and your selling price are different numbers, and only one of them should be visible at the counter. In Store Mitr the Cashier role sees selling prices and makes sales — cost price is visible to the Owner and Managers only, and Cashiers do not have access to Inventory at all. You can hand the counter to a part-time employee without handing over your buying rates.
Buying from distributors, and returning what you cannot sell
Add your distributors as suppliers, create a purchase order for what you need, and when the delivery arrives receive it against the order — the quantities go straight into your stock and the record stays attached to the supplier. If you need to send goods back, record a purchase return and the returned quantity comes out of stock again.
Suppliers are optional. You are never blocked from selling because a purchase has not been entered.
Regular customers and monthly refills
Many pharmacy customers are regulars — a monthly medicine list, an elderly parent, a family account. Add them as customers with their phone number and their purchase history builds up automatically. For customers you trust, Khata lets them pay later, with an optional credit limit and a running outstanding balance you can collect against.
A bill the customer can keep
Enter the customer’s number and the invoice reaches their WhatsApp when you confirm the sale, with your store name, logo and invoice number on it. Invoices keep the prices from the day of the sale, so a later price change never alters an old bill. Every invoice is numbered in its own series for that store.
Low stock on the items you cannot run out of
Set a low-stock level per product and it is flagged in red when stock reaches it. Stock History records every adjustment with who made it, which helps when you are reconciling a count after a busy week.
What Store Mitr does not do (yet)
So you can decide with the full picture:
- Store Mitr does not track batch numbers or expiry dates today — if you rely on expiry alerts, keep your existing method for that.
- It does not maintain scheduled-drug registers or prescription records.
- Tax is set as a percentage per product. Store Mitr exports your sales as CSV for your accountant but does not file GST returns.
Common questions
Does Store Mitr track medicine expiry dates?
Not today. Store Mitr handles billing, stock counts, low-stock alerts, suppliers and customers, but it does not record batch numbers or expiry dates.
Can my counter staff see what I paid for the medicines?
No. Cost prices are visible only to the Owner and Managers. Cashiers see selling prices and can make sales without access to Inventory.
Can I record returns to my distributor?
Yes. Record a purchase return against the supplier’s order and the returned quantity is deducted from your stock.
