Bakery billing software built for a fast, cash-and-UPI counter
A bakery counter is a day-long rush of small bills — a pastry here, a cake there, a box of sweets before a festival — paid in a mix of cash and UPI. There is little time per customer, stock is made fresh each morning, and at closing time the owner wants one thing: does the cash in the drawer match what we sold?
Store Mitr is built for exactly that rhythm: quick bills at the counter, simple payment recording, daily expenses, and a day closing that ends every night with a clear number.

Small bills, quickly
Add each item once, with its price, and after that a bill is a few taps: search or scan, pick the payment type, confirm. Items sold by weight — sweets by the kilo, cookies by the half-kilo — are set as variable products with a price per kg and take fractional quantities. Boxed items and cakes are fixed-price products.
Cash and UPI, without the guesswork
Choose Cash or UPI when you confirm the bill. For UPI, once your UPI ID is saved on the Store profile, a payment QR for the exact amount is shown at the counter and the money lands directly in your account. Store Mitr records how each bill was paid, so at the end of the day you can see the split between cash and UPI in Reports rather than reconstructing it.
Keeping a daily eye on the running costs
A bakery’s costs are daily: packaging, transport for deliveries, electricity, rent and salaries. Log them under Expenses with an amount, a category (rent, salary, utilities, transport, packaging or misc) and a note. They are counted in your day closing, so the cash you expect to have accounts for what you actually spent from the drawer.
A day close that ends the argument
When the shutter comes down, count the cash and enter it. Store Mitr shows the cash it expects — cash sales plus cash collected on any Khata, minus the day’s expenses — and the difference between the two. Confirm the close, and the day has a clear, dated record. If you spot a mistake tomorrow, a closed day can be reopened and edited for the last seven days.
Regulars, orders on credit and staff shifts
Regular customers — the office that orders every Friday, the family that buys every festival — can be added with their phone number, with Khata for the ones you allow to pay later. Invite counter staff as Cashiers so each person bills under their own login and sees only their own sales, and check the sales-by-cashier report if numbers ever need explaining.
What Store Mitr does not do (yet)
So you can decide with the full picture:
- Store Mitr does not track recipes, ingredients or production batches — it tracks the finished products you sell.
- Shelf life and expiry dates are not tracked.
- Pre-orders and cake custom orders are not a separate feature; record them as a normal sale when paid.
Common questions
Can I sell sweets by the kilo in Store Mitr?
Yes. Set the product as variable with a price per kg and bill any weight, such as 0.5 or 1.25 kg.
How does day closing work for a bakery?
Count the cash at closing time and enter it. Store Mitr compares it with the expected cash — cash sales plus cash collected on Khata, minus the day’s expenses — and shows the difference before you confirm.
Can customers pay by UPI at my bakery counter?
Yes. Add your UPI ID to your Store profile and a QR code for the bill amount appears when you choose UPI. The payment goes directly to your account.
